Time to Renew Parking Permits in the Randolph and Mulberry Districts - Current permits expire July 31

 

RICHMOND, Va. – New parking decals for residents of the Randolph and Mulberry Restricted Parking Districts are now on sale. Residents can get more information, verify residency in their Parking Districts and download an application for mailing on the City’s website: https://www.rva.gov/public-works/parking-enterprise. Both mail-in and in-person renewal options are available for qualifying residents. The current parking permit expires July 31, 2021.

Residents must display the permit on their cars to park for more than the designed time restriction. A resident is either the residing owner of record or renter of property located within the Restricted Parking District. A City of Richmond Residential Parking Permit Application must be completed and approved prior to decal issuance. The Department of Public Works verifies residency for both homeowners residing at the property and lease agreements for renters.

A resident of the district is defined as an owner of record or renter of property in the district and members of their immediate family who reside with the owner or renter at the address in the District:

(1) Who are licensed drivers, and

(2) Whose domicile is the address for which they are seeking to obtain the parking permit

Decals and applications are also available at City Hall, Room 102, 900 East Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia. The office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please call 804-646-5700 if you have any questions.

Washington Football Team Continues Ambassador Program at 2021 Training Camp

The Washington Football Team will continue its tradition of the Richmond Training Camp Ambassador program, which allows volunteers the opportunity to participate in Training Camp, support the team, and represent the City of Richmond. Program participants help the event operate smoothly by answering questions about training camp while also highlighting tourism destinations, restaurants, and other points of interest in the city. To thank Ambassadors for their help in this important role, Ambassadors can earn incentives such as a Washington Football swag bags, daily raffles, discounts on-site, Washington Football Team game tickets, and more, based on the number of shifts they work.

Potential Ambassadors will be needed Tuesday, July 27 – Saturday, July 31, 2021, with shifts lasting approximately five hours. La ventanilla para transacciones en efectivo ubicada en la sede de la Iniciativa del Distrito Oriental (East District Initiative) estará cerrada temporalmente entre el 12 de julio y el 1 de agosto

Los clientes del Departamento de Finanzas pueden hacer sus pagos en persona en otras sedes, por Internet, por teléfono, en los buzones o por correo postal.

Richmond, Virginia — La ventanilla para transacciones en efectivo ubicada en la sede de la Iniciativa del Distrito Oriental (East District Initiative) estará cerrada temporalmente a partir del lunes 12 de julio y hasta el 1o de agosto. La ventanilla volverá a funcionar el 2 de agosto de 2021. El buzón para depósito de pagos seguirá siendo revisado a diario durante ese período; el resto del edificio seguirá funcionando en su horario normal.

Durante este cierre temporal, los pagos se podrán hacer usando las siguientes opciones:

Pago en persona:

Lleve su factura y su pago en efectivo, cheque, giro postal o tarjeta de crédito a las siguientes sedes:

  • Iniciativa del Sur (tiene estacionamiento gratuito): 4100 Hull Street – Horario: lunes a viernes de 8:00 AM a 5:00 PM.
  • Alcaldía: 900 E. Broad Street, Oficina 102 – Horario: lunes a viernes de 8:00 AM a 5:00 PM.

Pago por teléfono o por Internet:

  • Impuestos a los bienes raíces o a la propiedad personal (vehículos) – Puede pagar estos impuestos por Internet yendo a la página disponible aquí o puede pagar por teléfono llamando al 1-866-890-5269. Las transacciones por cheque electrónico o transferencia electrónica tendrán un costo de 95 centavos; el costo de los pagos mediante tarjeta de débito o crédito se basa en la cantidad a pagar. Los costos son calculados por una compañía externa.
  • Impuestos de alojamiento, alimentación y boletería (ALM) (únicamente por Internet) – Usted puede pagar sus impuestos de ALM yendo a la página ubicada aquí.
  • Departamento de Servicios Públicos – Puede pagar sus facturas de servicios públicos en Internet yendo a la página ubicada aquí o por teléfono llamando al 804-646-4646.

Pago mediante depósito en buzones: Lleve su factura y forma de pago (cheque o giro postal) a alguna de las siguientes ubicaciones:

  • Alcaldía: buzón abierto las 24 horas - 900 East Broad Street, esquina de la calle 10a 
  • Alcaldía: 900 East Broad Street – afuera de la oficina 102
  • Iniciativa del Distrito Oriental: buzón abierto las 24 horas - 701 North 25th Street

East District Initiative Finance Cash Operations counter temporarily closed July 12 through August 1

Department of Finance customers may make payments in person at other locations, online, by phone, at drop boxes, or by mail

Effective Monday, July 12, 2021 the Finance Cash Operations counter at the East District Initiative building will be temporarily closed through August 1, 2021. The office will reopen on August 2, 2021. The payment drop box at this location will continue to be monitored and checked daily during this time. The rest of the building will observe regular hours.

During the temporary closure payments can be made via the following options:

Pay in person: bring your bill and cash, check, money order or credit card to the following locations:

  • Southside Initiative (Free Parking): 4100 Hull Street – Hours: Mon. – Fri. 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • City Hall: 900 E. Broad Street, Room 102 – Hours: Mon. – Fri. 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay by phone or online:

  • Personal Property/Real Estate - You can pay your personal property or real estate online or pay by phone by calling 1-866-890-5269. Electronic check/ACH transactions will incur a $.95; credit/debit card transaction fee is based on payment amount. Fees assessed by third party as outlined.
  • Admission, Lodging and Meals (online only) - You can pay your ALM taxes online.
  • Department of Public Utilities – You can pay Department of Public Utilities bills online or by pay by phone by calling 804-646-4646.

Pay at drop box locations: Bring bill and check or money order to the following locations:

  • City Hall: – 24 Hours - 900 East Broad Street - 10th Street
  • City Hall: 900 East Broad Street - Outside Room 102
  • East District Initiative: - 24 Hours -701 North 25th Street
  • Southside Initiative: 4100 Hull Street

Willingness to Hold a Public Meeting for US-60 Downtown Expressway Gateway Pedestrian Improvements Project

 

RICHMOND, Va. – The City of Richmond has completed the 30 percent design for the US-60 Downtown Expressway Gateway Pedestrian Improvements Project. The project will provide improvements to the pedestrian infrastructure around Kanawha Plaza (South 9th Street, East Canal Street, South 7th Street, and East Byrd Street) in the vicinity of the downtown expressway. The proposed improvements will provide safer pedestrian access to the Plaza.

Elements of the project include: increased pedestrian accessibility, adding and widening sidewalk, reconstruction of intersection geometry, enhanced pedestrian crossings by reducing the length of the crossing and clearly marked crosswalks, installation of pedestrian signals, planting street trees, and installation of a new traffic signal at South 7th and East Byrd Streets.

If your concerns cannot be resolved, the City of Richmond is willing to hold a public hearing. Send your request with the subject, “US-60 Downtown Expressway Gateway Improvements” to the address listed above. Requests for a public hearing must be received by July 19, 2021. If it is deemed necessary to hold a public hearing, the notice of the date, time and place of the hearing will be posted.

The City of Richmond will arrange for reasonable accommodations for non-English speaking persons or those persons with visual, hearing, or mobility impairments when notified by July 19, 2021.
