February 2017: Virginia-based Owens & Minor, a global healthcare services company, will make a multi-year, multi-million dollar investment in downtown. The City competed against 60 other localities across the nation to win the project. The Company will occupy about 90,000 SF in Riverfront Plaza, housing 500 teammates, including 300 new positions. October 2016: Headquartered in Washington, D.C., CoStar is the leading provider of commerical real estate information. After a year-long site selection search, the company chose Richmond for it's new research and software development center. The company plans cto reate 732 new jobs, and invest almost $8 million in a state-of-the-art facility along the James River. Learn more
August 2, 2016: Headquartered in Washington, D.C., ICMA-RC is a financial services firm that chose Richmond as its location to expand, relocating approximately 100 jobs and creating 100 new jobs in downtown Richmond. President and CEO Bob Schultze said," The synergy between our Washington, D.C. headquarters and Richmond made the most sense for our operational needs." Learn more.
February 2015: CarMax, headquartered in Goochland County, Virginia, has chosen to locate it's new digital and technology innovation center in the city of Richmond's downtown. The space will house between 80 and 120 employees. Learn more.
January 2015: Avepoint, a New Jersey-based technology company that specializes in Microsoft Cloud services and software, chose to locate in downtown Richmond, bringing 100 new jobs and $1.5 million investment. Learn more.
December 2014: This local HVAC company chose to relocate to the city's Scott's Addition neighborhood. Founded in the 1970's, Woodfin brought 151 new jobs and a $1.5 million investment into the city. Learn more.
December 2014: The Martin Agency, one of the top advertising agencies in the country, chose to expand its operations in the city, retaining 500 jobs, creating 175 new jobs, and investing $15 mllion in an expanded facility.
October 2014: Based in San Diego, the 9th largest craft brewery in the country conducted an extensive search for their new east coast manufacturing and farm-to-table restaurant and 1-acre beer garden. The company selected Richmond, and has completed its 200,000+ manufacturing and distribution facility on time and below budget. Learn more.
UNOS, the non-profit which operates the nation's transplant system, expanded its operations beyond its headquarters in the Virginia BioTechnology Park by purchasing a 51,000 SF office building in Jackson Ward and moving up to 50 employees to that new location. Learn more.
