Portrait of Ross Catrow
Ross Catrow, OSC Director
Ross was appointed to lead OSC in early 2025 by Mayor Danny Avula. He was hired into the office as a deputy director in 2024.
Ross has been communicating for most of his life but has done so professionally since the late aughts. From 2021 to 2024, he served as the Director of Communications for the Richmond and Henrico Health Districts. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ross is proudest of the way his team updated the public with ever-changing vaccination information.
He founded RVANews, a local news magazine, and Good Morning, RVA, a daily email newsletter which explained local issues in a clear and concise way. Before that, he was the executive director of RVA Rapid Transit, a local non-profit that advocates for frequent and far-reaching public transit in the Richmond region.
Ross believes that by sharing our stories we strengthen what connects us and what makes us all Richmonders.
