Utility Taxes Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I do not live in the City. Why are City related taxes appearing on my bill? Or, I live in the City but see taxes for other localities, such as Chesterfield County and Henrico County, on my bill. Why?
In either of these situations, we recommend you do the following:

  1. Contact the service provider to have them correct your records in their system, where appropriate; and
  2. Contact the Office of the City Assessor to enable us to determine if this is an isolated situation applicable to you or if there are other customers who live in your area impacted.

If you have a question, comment, or concern regarding City of Richmond Utility Taxes, please contact RVA 311 at (804) 646-7000 to submit a ticket.
