A safer, brighter, and more connected bus stop is coming to Southside Plaza.
The City of Richmond, along with Dominion Energy and the Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC), are launching a Smart City Pilot program in the 8th District.
- Improve safety with brighter LED lighting
- Cover the area with free, public wi-fi
- Provide real-time bus arrival information
- Gather data on the neighborhood air quality and noise levels
This pilot is just the first step! If successful, similar smart streetlights can be installed throughout the City, increasing safety and connectivity in many neighborhoods.
