State of the Teen Union

Where: VUU Living and Learning Center, 1813-1899 Bath St

Youth violence affects our entire community, and real change requires all of us working together. That’s why the Richmond Police Department’s Community Youth Intervention Services Unit is proud to present the State of the Teen Union, an event designed to engage, educate, and empower the young people of Richmond.

The event will take place 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday, March 31 will bring together local youth, community leaders and organizations to address critical issues, discuss solutions, and create a safer, stronger Richmond. A key feature of this year’s event is a special presentation by the Drug Enforcement Administration on the dangers of fentanyl through its "One Pill Can Kill" initiative. With the rise of counterfeit pills contributing to the fentanyl crisis, this presentation will provide life-saving information to Richmond’s youth. In addition to panel discussions, the event will feature live performances and interactive breakout sessions, where teens can share their perspectives on how to address youth gun violence. These sessions will give young people a platform to be heard and allow community leaders to gain direct insight into the challenges and solutions that matter most to them.

This is a FREE event.
