Boards and Commissions Vacancies - Application Deadline March 15, 2022

Would you like to play an active role in the governance of your city? 

Consider applying for appointment to one of the over 50 boards and commissions to which the Richmond City Council makes appointments.

  • All applicants must live and/or work in the City of Richmond, unless otherwise specified.
  • An asterisk (*) next to a vacancy indicates an absolute vacancy or that a member who is eligible for reappointment is not interested in continuing to serve.

Public Information Advisory - Governmental Operations Special Meeting - March 15, 2022

Informal & Formal Richmond City Council Meetings - March 14, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The meetings will be held through electronic communication means pursuant to the current ongoing declaration of a local emergency concerning the COVID-19 pandemic confirmed by Res. No. 2020-R025, adopted March 16, 2020, and as permitted by section 2.2-3708.2(A)(3) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. Both meetings will be open to participation through electronic communication means by the public and closed to in-person participation by the public. Less than a quorum of Richmond City Council will assemble in the Council Chamber on the 2nd floor of City Hall at 900 East Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia 23219, and most Council members will participate by teleconference/videoconference via Microsoft Teams. The public will have the option to provide their comments by teleconference/videoconference via Microsoft Teams, or in writing via email. Interested citizens who wish to take advantage of either option must do so prior to 10:00 a.m., on Monday, March 14, 2022, by either calling the Office of the City Clerk at (804) 646-7955 and selecting option 3 or sending written comments and virtual comment requests to CityClerksOffice@rva.gov. All written comments received prior to the deadline will be provided to all members of the Council prior to the beginning of the Formal meeting and will be included in the record of the meeting.

No. 2020-R025, adopted March 16, 2020, and as permitted by section 2.2-3708.2(A)(3) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act.  The meeting will be open to participation through electronic communication means by the public and closed to in-person participation by the public.  Less than a quorum of Richmond City Council will assemble in the Council Chamber on the 2nd floor of City Hall at 900 East Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia 23219, and most Council members and other staff will participate by teleconference/videoconference via Microsoft Teams.

In-Person Education and Human Services Committee Meeting - March 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

The Education and Human Services Standing Committee agenda for the Thursday, March 10, 2022 meeting is now available on the City’s legislative website by clicking here.

This meeting will be open to in-person participation. To maximize compliance with public health guidance aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19, the public will have the option to provide their comments by teleconference/videoconference via Microsoft Teams, or in writing via email. Interested citizens who wish to take advantage of either option, must do so prior to 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, March 10, 2022, by calling the Office of the City Clerk at (804) 646-7955 and selecting option 3, or sending comments to CityClerksOffice@rva.gov. All written comments received prior to the deadline will be provided to all members of the Education and Human Services Standing Committee prior to the beginning of the meeting and will be included in the record of the meeting.
