Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Biosolids Dewatering Improvements

Project Summary and Scope

This project consists of the renovation of the WWTP Biosolids Dewatering Equipment and Facilities.  The existing five dewatering centrifuges and ancillary pumps and polymer storage and feed equipment are at the end of their useful life and require replacement.

Project Milestones

2nd Qtr 2017 Complete biosolids options scoping study.
2nd Qtr 2017 Begin design of biosolids dewatering improvements.  (Project merged with Sludge Thickening Building Improvements and designed as single project)
July 2021 Request for Qualification advertised (for merged project) and fully closed out and approved.
February 11th 2022 Project advertised through competitive IFB process to qualified bidders.
April 29th 2022 Bids received and tabulated. (Project undergoing review of budgets to secure additional funding to meet received bids.) 
October 20th 2022 Project awarded to MEB General Contractors, Inc for the amount of $52,573,000.00. 
February 6th 2023 Notice to Proceed date for Construction

 

Project Funding

DPU Wastewater CIP - $14,323,000.  Funds for this project were appropriated prior to Fiscal Year 2016-2017. 

3rd Qtr 2022 - Project is funding has been increased to $46,600,000.00 

 

 

Project Status Updates

Project scoping study completed.  Design work began February 2017.

Currently undergoing permit review and awaiting contract award 

4th Qtr 2022 - Project has been awarded and provided with a Notice to Proceed Date.
