Community Ambassadors
The City of Richmond’s Community Ambassador Program is a hands-on professional development and community engagement initiative designed to grow and develop City residents through personal and professional enrichment and career exploration.

Community Ambassadors serve as trusted connectors between residents and City government, helping to strengthen neighborhoods, promote City services, and ensure resident voices are heard. Participants gain valuable training and experience that prepare them for long-term career opportunities within City government or community-based organizations.
Community Ambassadors have the following responsibilities:
-
Represent the City of Richmond at community events and public meetings
-
Host or assist with community resource tables, outreach campaigns, and information sessions
-
Respond to inquiries from residents and connect them to available resources and programs
-
Collaborate with City departments and community partners to coordinate outreach and engagement initiatives
-
Collect community feedback and prepare simple reports on trends, concerns, and engagement outcomes
-
Support conflict resolution and promote inclusive, respectful interactions within neighborhoods
-
Identify partnership opportunities with local organizations and businesses to strengthen community impact
