A Message From Richmond's Interim CAO

Welcome to the City of Richmond! As Richmond’s Interim Chief Administrative Officer, it’s my responsibility to implement the priorities of the city and to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the City’s departments and offices. This includes comprehensive management and overall leadership for the organization including policy development and interpretation, and administration of programs, processes, functions, budgets, and staff. The CAO is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of all City departments and for developing and implementing the strategic plan.  

Below you’ll find my team who works to make Richmond the best place for folks to live, work, run a business, relax, or even come for a visit. Their hard work impacts the lives of so many Richmonders in ways both big and small—from affordable housing to public swimming pools. It is an absolute privilege to work alongside thousands of dedicated public servants each day on behalf of the City’s residents and stakeholders.

The mission of the Human Services portfolio is to enhance economic stability and improve health outcomes and the overall wellbeing of Richmonders across all stages of life. Together, the agencies provide comprehensive social services, workforce training and development, and both indoor and outdoor recreational activities. Through a shared vision, the City of Richmond’s Human Services portfolio centers accessibility, compassion, and equity as it fosters resilience and works to meet the health and human services needs of children, single adults, and families.
