Sign Up for CivicReady to Receive Utility Work Notifications

The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities is committed to ensuring your safety and well-being, around the clock. This includes informing you of long and short-term projects throughout the city which are essential to improving your quality of life but may also impact your day-to-day.  We are excited to announce the launch of Civic Ready, a new utility work notification system that allows us to keep you informed through text messages, emails, and voice calls.

Non-emergency alerts might include information about utility service impacts, street closures, water or gas service interruptions, or streetlight outages. Emergency alerts could involve specific hazards that may require action.

To enhance our ability to reach you effectively, we need to collect your contact information and preferences. By subscribing and indicating your preferences, you ensure you receive only the information relevant to your geographical area and concerns.

To receive non-emergency alerts, please check the "DPU Utility Work Notifications" box under "Notification Groups." The system tailors alerts based on your provided address, reducing unnecessary notifications. These alerts are a crucial tool in keeping our community informed and safe.

CivicReady is a free service, but standard text messaging rates and other charges may apply. To subscribe visit here. Additionally, there is a mobile app available for download to enhance your experience with the service.

Our mission is to provide safe and reliable utility services. CivicReady empowers us to deliver timely and accurate information related to utility work.
