N Hamilton Partial Sewer Blockage

The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities is aware of an issue with a sewer line in the 300 - 900 blocks of N. Hamilton Street. DPU crews are on the scene and report that the sewer line servicing this area is partially blocked, causing periodic odors. These odors are exacerbated by overcast skies - which make a sealant, trapping the odors. 

Contractors will be on site next week to assess and mitigate the blockage. In the meantime, odor neutralizers are being added to the sewer system to help dissipate the periodic odors. While odors should not cause any health issues, those impacted are encouraged to wear a mask when outdoors in the area.
