The doors to "serious fun" are open at Richmond CenterStage, the region's new performing arts complex located in the heart of downtown Richmond. The 179,000-square foot facility, with its diverse programs, welcomes talent from around the corner and around the world that will astound and inspire audiences of all ages. The Concert Ballet of Virginia is a professionally mounted company that provides a full season of classical and contemporary dance in the Greater Richmond area and throughout the state. Headquartered in Hanover County at11028 Leadbetter Rd., Ashland, VA 23005, the 65-member company annually presents "The Nutcracker", a 3-program Repertory Gala Season, outdoor performances a Dogwood Dell, the "Storybook Series "and "Summerdance" intensive summer training classes.

Located in Byrd Park, Dogwood Dell is a 2,400 seat amphitheatre owned and operated by the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Facilities.

Since 1956, it has been home to the Festival of Arts; a summer-long celebration of the arts featuring art exhibits, concerts, dance and theatre. In addition to these events the Festival of Arts also incorporates a children's series with performances at our Ha' Penny stage.

Located in the former Engine No. 10 firehouse at 1609 W. Broad St., this nonprofit troupe produces full-length and one-act contemporary American plays throughout the year, except during the summer.

Located at 1812 W. Main St., the Hand Workshop is a nonprofit center for the visual arts. Since 1962 it has offered art classes for children, teenagers and adults and art exhibitions by prominent regional and national artists. Classes and workshops cover a wide spectrum from pottery and metalworking to printmaking and sculpture.

The Hand Workshop also sponsors the annual Richmond Craft and Design Show, featuring selected artists from across the United States. Individual and household memberships are available and include discounts on activities.

Pine Camp Cultural Arts and Community Center is located in the north side of Richmond. Amenities include a game room, computer lab, a multi-purpose room and restrooms. Located outside the community center are three basketball courts, a large children's playground, senior Fitness trail, one softball field and a soccer field.

Recreation programs and classes in the areas of sports, arts, fitness, dance, crafts, games, Active Adults (Seniors) programs, computers, after school "Fun Klub", the center also hosts a summer camp, special events, workshops, after-school program, and cultural activities at different times.

People of all ages will find a variety of recreation opportunities available at the center.

Located at 6 N. Laurel St., this theater is one of the best known and most striking buildings in Richmond. The Landmark also ranks among the City's most popular stages for theatrical and musical performances. Some of America's greatest entertainers have appeared on stage beneath its towering minarets and desert murals. The theatre has the largest proscenium stage on the East Coast. Know for its excellent acoustics, the Landmark has seating for over 3,500. Additionally, the ballroom is host of numerous gala affairs and has a capacity of 1,400. The Latin Ballet of Virginia is the area's preeminent Hispanic-American Dance Company. The dancers incorporate flamenco, classical Spanish, traditional Latin American and Caribbean dances with ballet, modern and jazz dance techniques. Dance classes are held at 2880 Mountain Rd. in Glen Allen and their office is located at 10610 N. Dover Pointe Rd. in Richmond.

Founded in 1996, a collaborative project of Virginia Repertory Theatre and the Boys and Girls Club of Richmond, the independent, not-for-profit organization has grown in number from 20 to over 80 voices strong and is viewed within the community as one of Richmond's premier performing arts organizations. Its members range in age from 7 to 17 years. The boys come from various parts of the city of Richmond and the surrounding counties.
