Join us for on-site educational sessions covering the basics of investments and the Richmond Retirement System (RRS) to Virginia Retirement System (VRS) transition. Dates, times, and locations are below.

Attend a VRS Informational Session
If you are considering transitioning to VRS or want more information, you are encouraged to listen to a recording of a VRS information session, available on the Publications page of this site.
During these sessions, VRS counselors will present information and RRS staff will be on hand to answer questions.
Each session is specific to the plan. Please attend the most relevant session to you based on the guidelines of which session is most appropriate to you is provided below:

If you know you have prior VRS service but are not sure which plan you were in previously, you can find out by contacting the VRS service center at 1-888-827-3847 / Contact VRS | Virginia Retirement System (varetire.org) or attending one of the sessions. We are working to arrange individual retirement planning sessions for the City of Richmond employees. We will send an update once available. Stay tuned for more information.
