Budget and Strategic Planning Overview

The Department of Budget and Strategic Planning monitors expenditures and revenues to ensure that the City is in alignment with its annual plan providing recommendations and financial management strategies for the administration, departments, and agencies.  

The Budget Department is also making a significant contribution to the Mayor’s goal of continuing to become a well-managed government.  The department plays a central role in the implementation of a set of mission-driven, outcome-oriented, and performance-based management tools to include outcome-based budgeting to guide investment to meet identified outcomes and performance measurement to evaluate success toward achieving City objectives.
