Payment options

To pay online

You can use online payments and follow the instructions given on the Virginia Judiciary website.

You may prepay your ticket in person up to the day before your court date by 4 p.m. Bring your summons with you.

           NOTE: Juveniles CANNOT prepay their traffic tickets online - those must be paid in person.

To pay in person

If you decide to pay your traffic ticket in person, you may pay by

• Cash
• Visa*/MasterCard*
• Check or money order made payable to the Richmond Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court

*There is a 4% convenience fee added when paying by credit/debit card.

Time to Pay Agreement

Individuals requiring additional time to make payments may enter into a Time to Pay (TTP) Agreement with the Court.  Individuals must come to the Court in order to fill out the required paperwork before entering into a TTP Agreement.

Community Service in Lieu of Fines and Costs

Individuals wishing to perform Community Service in Lieu of Fines and Cost must complete the Application for Community Service.  This should be turned into the Clerk’s Office where the application will be processed and the individual notified if it has been approved.
